Lord above storms…
They come a-rising
Tsunami waves threaten
To consume all calm
Glad gratitude…
My shores quake with
Remembered assaults
Lightning strikes of childhood
Cruelty’s thunder from those
Assigned to provide
Love, nurture…
But YOU, Jesus
Christ, unmovable Rock
Stand strong amid winds
Arms outstretched, one
Holds waters back
The other embraces me.
